When We Do It

Your continuity of care should be provided to you by a regular GP. Our services are to provide care to you when your GP is closed and treat you when you are suffering from a medical condition requiring urgent attention.

The Difference Between Emergency Care, Urgent Care And Regular Care

When your GP is closed and we can treat you when you are suffering from a medical condition requiring urgent attention. If you are unsure how serious your illness or injury is, you can use healthdirect which offers a symptom checker and 24-hour telephone health advice (1800-022-222).

Emergency Care

Call 000 or go to the nearest hospital if you are experiencing critical or life-threatening situations such as:

  • Chest pains
  • Sudden onset of weakness, numbness or paralysis of the face, arm or leg
  • Breathing difficulties
  • Unconsciousness
  • Uncontrollable bleeding
  • Sudden collapse or unexplained fall
  • Severe burns

Urgent Care

If you are suffering from acute illness or an injury requiring urgent medical attention, we can help in situations such as:

  • Respiratory infections
  • Skin infections and rashes
  • Migraines
  • Gastro
  • Ear infections
  • Fevers
  • Urinary tract infections
  • An infant or child with a high fever, vomiting or diarrhoea

Regular Care

Your regular GP plays the most important role in your continuity of care as well as treating you with preventative medicine. You should visit your regular GP for things such as:

  • Repeat scripts
  • Immunisations
  • Regular health checkups
  • Treatment of chronic illnesses such as heart disease and high blood pressure
  • Mental health
